About the escape room

Basement is the place in the Escape Hotel where Mr. John, the owner of the hotel, now deceased, spent much of his time and where the children often played. It has long been an abandoned space and many are the stories that are told. There are those who say that Isabela, his daughter, did not die, and lives there, there are those who say that there is an uncle with illicit business who uses the space. There are guests who say they saw people entering the hotel, but never saw them leave. What is really going on in the hotel's basement?

AI Overview

AIComments highlight a strong atmosphere, a spacious room, and meticulous production. Staff performances (André and Ellie) are decisive for immersion and pacing. Fear ranges from moderate to very high, and you can choose with or without scares. The puzzles skew easy to medium, working best for smaller groups.
WeaknessesSome found the scares light for their taste, and veterans may find the puzzles simple. Smaller groups seem to perform better; with too many people the flow can stall. Object searching can hinder players who get lost easily.
StrengthsCinematic setting, creative mechanisms, and constant interaction with the character. The actor and the GM keep the tension up and help without breaking the mood.
SecurityThe team monitors at all times and gives clear guidance, keeping the game under control. Adjusting the scare level boosts comfort without losing the experience.
Level of fearFor many it’s genuinely scary, with spikes of suspense and adrenaline. You can request a with- or without-scares version, which helps more sensitive players.
Actors' gameThe on-scene actor is key to the fear, always unsettling. GMs like André and Ellie earn lots of praise for guidance, humor, and timing.
Quality of riddlesLogical, fair puzzles, generally accessible, that become more challenging under pressure. Good variety of mechanisms and interactions, prioritizing flow over raw difficulty.
PlotThe basement of Escape Hotel holds legends about Isabela and secrets of Mr. John. The game has you piece things together to discover what really happens down there, without handing everything to you.
Difficulty levelLight to medium, great for beginners and still fun for veterans thanks to the immersion. Hardcore players may find it easy, but the pacing makes up for it.
